Shoot Relfection #2:

Last night was our second shoot. In comparison to the first shoot, I think that last nights shoot was incredibly productive and worthwhile. We raced to Asher's house straight after school (taking advantage of having Media Studies last period which meant we could leave early) and we were able to get started as the sun set.

In a similar way to my reflection of Shoot 1, I will reflect on last nights shoot based on the 6 bullet points I set out. (The raw footage will be found below this).

Do we need more shots?

Yes. But it's certainly not to the same extent as last week. Despite working essentially from square one with the new script, we raced through it and got it all done. With that said, towards the end we were extremely tired, and we were mainly just rushing to get it done so that we could see a somewhat 'finished' film over the course of the week and then spend next Friday reshooting any shots which aren't perfect. So yes, we will need to reshoot most of the end scene (every shot from Sam running into the hallway, onwards).

Can we make do with what we have?

Yes! As I stated above, we finished shooting. However, as I also stated above, the end was rushed for the sake of getting it done, so we acknowledge that we will need to go back next Friday and re-film the end sequence.

Do we need to re-shoot any specific shots?

Yes. The end scene needs to be reshot. I apologise that these questions are so monotonous and cause repetition.

Was the lighting okay?

Yes. It was very similar to shoot 1 last Friday. However, this time we had the practically lit scene where the lights flash as the ghost attempts to torment Sam. We are happy with how this was lit, but we will have to come up with a creative solution for the audio side of things, because the raw audio picked up on Oscar and Asher flicking the light switches!

Was the diegetic sound okay?

No. This time we got the microphone working, so I guess it was better than last time! But everything which we could neglect (in terms of sound), we did. For starters, there's the issue I mentioned above. We neglected the audio during the climax of the film and because of it we will need to come up with a creative post production solution. Another problem is that we forgot to film Sam's one (and only) line of spoken dialogue. When she is trying to open the door she is supposed to scream "Come on!.. FUCK!" but we forgot to film this.

Will we need to reshoot?

Yes. As I stated above, we want to redo the ending. However, we are far better placed than we were this time last week. We will shoot next Friday to really perfect the ending of the film. It's important to emphasis that reshooting the end is a bit of a luxury which we're doing because we have time to do so, however, if a global pandemic were to strike and the world shut down, we would be able to piece together a final cut with what we already have!

Raw Footage #2:

Much like I did last Sunday following on from Friday's shoot, I thought I would use today to collate all the raw footage and upload it onto Google Drive. Same stuff as last week, use VLC Media Player to view as the files are in the .MXF format.
