Shoot Reflection #3:

Last night was our third (and final) shoot. It's fair to say that it went pretty well, and we got everything done which we wanted to do. Having such a small amount to shoot (the ending few shots) and a whole night to so it, really meant that we were able to take our time and make everything look good.

In a similar way to my reflection of Shoot 1 and Shoot 2, I will reflect on last nights shoot based on the 6 bullet points I set out.

Do we need more shots?

No. We don't NEED any more, nor do we have time for any more. With that being said, we managed to forget Sam's spoken dialogue for a third time, so we are just going to live without that. As well as that, there are some continuity issues, where some shots show the front door open, while others show it closed. We will just have to live with these, crop the clips in a way which makes it less noticeable, and at the end of the day, if it's the only problem with our opening sequence, I'll be pretty happy.

Can we make do with what we have?

Yes! And we will. Of course it isn't perfect, but no production ever will be.

Do we need to re-shoot any specific shots?

No. If time was not a factor, reshooting some of the last shots would be nice, but it isn't feasible for us.

Was the lighting okay?

Yes. No comments here. The lighting for this third shoot was primarily practical (ie the house lights which are physically in the scene), which made it easy.

Was the diegetic sound okay?

As I stated in my reflection of shoot 2, we kind of gave up on diegetic sounds, with the assumption that sound effects can be added in the post production stage. The only diegetic sound which we needed to record was my spoken dialogue, which we managed to forget for a third time!!

Will we need to reshoot?

No. As I stated above, a reshoot would be nice just to really take some of the last shots from 80% to 100% perfect. But we do not have time to do a fourth shoot, and I'm sure that even if we did, we still wouldn't be happy.

Raw Footage #3:

Much like I did on the previous posts following on from Friday's shoots, I am posting today to show all of the raw footage we got.
