Location is crucial in a thriller film, as it introduces the atmosphere and tension to the audience.
Our first step when it came to choosing a location was a location scout, this enabled us to check out the location and see if it would suit what ideas we had for the film. On Thursday 11th May, as a group we went to check out potential locations for the film! After many discussions we came to the conclusion to check out Asher’s house for filming and once we checked it out, we agreed this would be it!
We decided to use this location because we could work our script around it, and it was super convenient since one of our group members lived there!

Why are you using this location? - First of all, it’s convenient. This house is owned by Asher’s parents and they were more than willing to allow us to film there. - It plays into the vibe we want. Young girl, home alone in a big modern house. This plays into a key idea such as...
Disruption of Order:
Modern houses are often associated with order, cleanliness, and control. Thrillers disrupt this order by introducing chaos, violence, and suspense into the pristine environment. This plays into our target audience as it give real-world relevance to young teenagers/adults. It will allow them to relate at the times when they were home alone and got scared because they felt they might be in a vulnerable situation.

However, there were some impracticalities, like we were informed that we needed to ensure some unique art pieces wouldn't be featured on film, due to privacy reasons.
Additionally, Asher's parents agreed to allow us to film at their house, however we have to find a time that couldn't interfere with her parent's plans at their home.
