Props and Costumes

One of my roles, was being in charge of costume. This wasn't too challenging because I would be the one wearing it!
Details about Sam's costume:
Our vision for Sam’s outfit is basically a typical thriller protagonist outfit. We thought the idea of a winter suited outfit would assist well with thriller opening. I was particularly thinking of a cardigan and pants to show the more casual activities, contributing to the narrative as the character of Sam was just doing a regular thing in her home.
When we were making changes to our production and script, we changed our narrative, which meant changing the original approach to the costume. The new idea of the story was that the character Sam would be relaxing at home watching the tv, so then we changed it to an outfit that would suit that instead. Which was a white singlet and cream coloured sweatpants, which I had at home which was convenient.
This costume is a good representation of what Sam is doing in the film, and how much she is in a regular situation, which contributes to the unexpected and abrupt frightening things that start occurring in her home. To add, the colours of her outfit being white, portray her innocence and purity.
The other aspect of costume/props was the green suit outfit,
On Friday the 5th of May, we tested the green man suit for our ghost idea. This is an integral part of the film because Sam is dragged by a ghost at the end of the film. In summary, the green suit worked! We took the time to test it and it works out well in the edit. Below you can find a video of us testing it.
